Hi,
I'm generally getting very good prints back from ProAm that accurately match what I see on my monitor. However, I can lose subtle shadow detail when converting files using the ProAm profile (resulting in shadow blocking in the print) and I was wondering if you had any tips for preserving as much of this image detail as possible?
Keep up the great service!
Thanks,
Steve |

Hi Steve,
The best advice I can give you is to ensure that you use 'Black Point Compensation' as this feature is designed preserve the shadow detail in the image.
Hope this helps,

I just wanted to post to say that I found the cause of the problem. It wasn't to do with the BPC, but the fact that my PS action was using Relative Colorimetric rendering when it should have been using Perceptual rendering instead to preserve the shadows.
Thanks for your help and maybe this info will be helpful to someone else in the future.
